2016 Oldham County Day
The Humane Society of Oldham County will have a booth at the Oldham County Days on Saturday July 16th at the Lagrange town square. Stop by and see us! Oldham County Day, hosted annually by the Project Guild of La Grange, is designed to celebrate community pride and to create fun for all ages, a reunion for classmates and neighbors and a source of income for local charities.
Our 2016 Oldham County Day Celebration will honor Grand Marshal, Dr. Thomas Clark. A supporter of the Humane Society of Oldham County. Beginning in 1978, he became a Dental Consultant to the Louisville Zoo, and has been instrumental in developing techniques for the treatment of various dental conditions in animals. In the late 1990’s Dr. Clark and colleagues launched the Exotic Animal Dentistry Senior Selective Course, which was unique in that it was the only course of its kind offered by a School of Dentistry, and has garnered acclaim both nationally and internationally for the University of Louisville.
Oldham County Day is the brainchild of the late Nancy Crass, a Project Guild member and longtime La Grange resident. The event began in 1971 and now boasts more than 120 booths, live music, a cupcake-eating contest and a vibrant parade filled with hometown pride. Proceeds from booth space fuel Project Guild’s year-round commitment to community support.
