The Humane Society of Oldham County will host their annual 'Paws in the Park' on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 from 11:00am to 2:00pm as a fundraiser for a new home for the animals. Paws in the Park will take place at N. Oldham Lions Club Belknap Community Park located on 12414 HWY 42 in Prospect, Kentucky.
The fun-filled event will include:
WLKY personality Jennifer Baileys, will be leading the walk! Birds of Prey Show by Wingspan, Dog Training and Agility Course Demonstration by David Bensen, Inflatables, Microchipping, .6 mile dog walk through Belknap Community Park, Cutest Dog Contest with prizes, Music by DJ Rob Burgin, Face Painting by Kid Canvas, amazing craft BBQ and tasty sides from Kentucky Smoked BBQ, Mile Wide Craft Beer, Ice Cream and Cold Doggie Treats by Arctic Scoop... and even a Unicorn Kissing Booth!!!
Get a team together to walk and raise pledges to really make a big impact on donations raised for the animals for this event. The Pledge forms can be downloaded from this site. Ask your coworkers, neighbors, friends or family to make a small pledge for your walk. Mega Cavern Tickets valued at $216 will be awarded for the most pledges raised! You will also get us one step closer to a new home for the animals by raising pledges!
Other offerings include a massage booth (the two legged kind) and a variety of Booths with items for dogs and their humans. A Silent Auction will be going on through the day with great items such as a bourbon basket from Jefferson Distillery, Yew Dell annual membership and a free veterinary cardiac consultation with CVCA, cardiac care for pets valued at $595.
For those interested in adopting a four legged friend, the Humane Society of Oldham County will have dogs for adoption from KSR Camp K-9 and Barktown. Tiny Heroes will be there with their miniture therapy horses.
Registration/Entrance fee is a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Any pledges raised count toward your Registration/Entrance donation.

12:10 BEST DRESSED DOG CONTEST
First 25 to enter. Anything goes! No cost to enter, winner decided by audience . $1 per vote. Best dressed earns a prize!

Join us on a short walk .6 mike around the park led by led by WLKY TV personality Jennifer Baileys.

Similar to musical chairs, when the music stops, get your dog to Sit. Last one to sit is out for that round. Last dog standing gets a prize!
1:50 FASTEST TIME THROUGH THE AGILITY COURSE CLOSES
Watch our professional dog trainer and his dog navigate the course. During the event you can practice with your own dog, get tips from the trainer and get your dog timed. At the end of the day, the dog with the fastest time wins a prize! Practicing is no cost. $3 donation for timing.
